OUR Trader of the Week this week is Loganberry which provides delicious Italian coffee and treats to the people of Stroud.

We took time out to chat to Janette Brain who owns the business to find out what life is like at Loganberry.

What is your full name? Janette Brain

What is the name of the business? Loganberry Coffee Shop & Takeaway

Are you the owner? Yes.

What is the ethos of the business? To provide a high quality takeaway service ( always ready to have a friendly chat), to provide the best coffee at a reasonable price, use the best ingredients to home produce cakes, savouries & soup, catering to to customers dietary needs, i.e. non-dairy options, a selection free of gluten and vegan.

What is your best selling item / most used service? Well, it is all pretty popular. Our Italian coffee is a big hit in Stroud. Home-made soup in the cold weather, and a range of cake to raise the spirits - Coffee & Walnut Cake is always a good one! And homemade sausage rolls of course - meat or vegan.

What is the weirdest thing you have been asked for in business? A man asked if he could bring his chicken in a basket inside, which I thought was a bit cheeky as we sold our own food to customers and discouraged them from bringing in their own, but in the interests of customer relations I relented. So he came in, with his live chicken clucking in its basket! Always good to be open-minded!

What is Stroud like as a town to operate in? Lovely. Our customers are friendly and we benefit from regulars coming back to see us time and time a gain. There is a strong commitment in the town to shop locally. It is always good to chat and keep abreast of what is is going on. We are surrounded by supportive and helpful independent businesses in our part of the High Street. We all look out for each other and have become firm friends. We are busy throughout the week. At weekends the town centre becomes particularly vibrant, come rain or shine. centre becomes particularly vibrant, come rain or shine.
