The Girl From The North Country at the Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham Review.
Experience a double Olivier award-winning production when Girl From The North Country comes to The Everyman Theatre this October.
This is a singers' musical in every sense of the word. It combines Gospel with dark undertones of depression hit America in the 1930s.
Bob Dylan's back catalogue flows through the show like an enigmatic presence with the songs all remastered for the stage.
You can hear his lyricism and story telling mastery in the beautiful songs which pervade this musical.
Each singer in this production has beautiful tone to their voices and they really lift the show.

The Howlin' Winds band were note perfect and provide a stunning musicality to the show.
The powerful figure of Joshua C Jackson as Joe Scott cuts an impressive force on stage as he struggles through life and Justina Kehinde is superb as Marianne Laine.
Choreographed to perfection the entire cast bring a wonderful warmth of talent to this show.
The musical, which boldly reimagines the legendary songs of Nobel-prize winning songwriter Bob Dylan, promises to be an uplifting and universal story about family and love.
Set in 1934, the time of The Great Depression, in Duluth Minnesota – Dylan’s hometown, the show follows a group of wayward souls who cross paths in a time weathered guesthouse.
Previously hailed by The Observer as the ‘No.1 theatre show of the year’, Girl From The North Country received glowing 5 star reviews when it first opened at The Old Vic in 2017, and has continued to receive critical acclaim and awards since transferring to the West End from Broadway.
The production has been written and directed by celebrated playwright Conor McPherson, previously associated with The Weir and The Seafarer.
Bob Dylan himself supports the show, and said at the opening of the Broadway production, “To be associated with Conor is one of the highlights of my professional life. It goes without saying the man is a genius for putting this thing together and I’m thrilled to be a part of the experience. My songs couldn’t be in better hands.”
Girl From the North Country will arrive at The Everyman, Cheltenham from Tuesday 25th October until Saturday 29th October. Tickets start at £15 and are available from everymantheatre.org.uk/shows/girl-from-the-north-country/
