CHIPPING Sodbury Rugby Club has had a revamp after a local property services company rolled up their sleeves to makeover the clubhouse.

Staff from property services’ company Ian Williams’ Chipping Sodbury Head Office and their Bristol Painting team, spruced up the outside cladding and external doors of Chipping Sodbury Rugby Club clubhouse last week.

Bravely putting their decorating skills under the spotlight, the volunteers - under the guidance of a professional painting supervisor from Ian Williams

provided the hard work and labour, using paints kindly donated by Dulux Decorator Centre.

Chipping Sodbury Rugby Football Club was formed in 1949 and moved into its current facility during the 1970s. The clubhouse is open seven days per week, with the cafe running from 9.30am - 2pm, which has proved very popular with dog walkers and general public enjoying the green space The Ridings has to offer.

The clubhouse is also available to hire by both members and general community and is now the home of the Park Run.

Adrian Page, club chairman said: “With the rugby season kicking off again, we have seen a great deal of interest by new players across all age groups, and support from local business by means of sponsorship. We really appreciate the contribution that Ian Williams has made, helping to keep our facility in good order so the wider Community can enjoy rugby at The Ridings for many more years to come.”

Ian Williams’ managing director, Andy Havard, who took part as a volunteer adds: “Sustainability is at the heart of everything Ian Williams does. Part of this strategy is to support the local communities in which we live and work across the country, so we jumped at the chance to donate our skills and time to spruce up the Rugby Club. We’re looking forward to the season ahead and wish the teams good luck in the league!”
