WYCLIFFE COLLEGE has shared its pride after a school leaver was awarded a professional contract.
Naquan Smith, who was last years' 1st XV Rugby captain, has been awarded a professional contract.
A Wycliffe spokesperson said: "We are proud to announce that Naquan Smith was rewarded for many years of exceptional single-mindedness and dedication with the award of a professional contract with Gloucester Rugby."
Naquan says his experience at the college allowed him to grow on and off the field.
He said: “My experience at Wycliffe was gratifying, and it helped me academically and personally.
"Rugby at Wycliffe allowed me to grow as a player individually and taught me leadership lessons.
"The support I got at Wycliffe, whether rugby on the pitch or gym off it and aid in my academics, was crucial in my development.
"Moving on from Wycliffe now, I’m looking forward to my time at Gloucester doing what I love.”
