A BUSINESS owner has thanked the community for the last 25 years after they announced they were closing next month.

The owner of Cytek, based in Westward Road, announced that the store - which sells bikes, spares, repairs and clothing - will close next month.

It will close permanently on Saturday, November 4, according to a sign in the window.

This read: "Thank you for the support over the last 25 years.

Stroud News and Journal: "I have been trying to spend more time with my grandchildren and cycling by cutting down on my workload.

"This isn't working.

"I have been working six days a week for 25 years and I fancy some time off.

"Halfords closing isn't going to help much either.

"Anyone interested in opening a shop in the area, now would be a good time, and I will have many shop fittings for sale.

"I will be continuing to mend bicycles by appointment, but strictly three days a week.

"I will be working mobile, or on a collect and return basis.
