POLICE have launched an appeal after thieves attacked a car during a dramatic pursuit by a homeowner following a burglary near Wotton over the weekend.
Two electric bikes were stolen from a shed at the property in Kingswood in the early hours of Saturday morning, November 11.
The owners of the house were woken to the sound of the break-in at around 3.30am and witnessed two electric bicycles being stolen.
The burglars made off in a white Volkswagen van and one of the people from the property gave chase in their own car.
Between Kingswood and Wickwar, the white van eventually stopped, blocking the homeowner’s car behind.
A man in a balaclava got out of the van and used a heavy object to damage the back of the car and smash one of the headlights.
The van then rammed the car before driving off.
Gloucestershire Police say they would like to speak to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or who has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage.
