A MAN who was caught without insurance while driving along a key road in Stroud faces a hefty fine.
Christopher Ridler, aged 73, was caught by police while driving a Nissan X-Trail on the Painswick Road on October 18 last year.
The case was heard at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on May 15 and was proved via the single justice procedure.
Ridler, of Johnstone Road, Newent, was fined £660, ordered to pay a £264 surcharge plus £90 in costs - a total of £1,014,
Six points were also added to his licence.
