I’m a firm believer in the idea that we all need to take time away from our usual day to day activities in order to recharge our body and mind but for those of us who run micro businesses that can be very hard to achieve.
You either have to have a situation where you can leave someone else in charge to carry on your business or you have to close for the duration. For a weekly stallholder at the market, it is a difficult choice! Having a break also means no income!
This week (and next!) two of our regular street food stalls are having a holiday which means we had an opportunity for some of those on our waiting list. Top of the list is Lhamos Momo, who will be standing in for Raclette Raclette in the square. Funky Falafel are also on holiday and will be replaced by Los Cubanos this week and Salsa Stories next week.
Alas, the cherry season is at an end, but goodness me there are some wonderful plums available at several stalls and the early apples are in too. Vegetables are in ascendance too with such a wide range of fresh new crops coming through!
Stalls to look out for this week include Rustic Puglia, our monthly Italian olive oil guest stall, Daphne and Margot children’s clothes, The Welshcake Lady, always a firm fave, and Smart’s traditional Gloucestershire Cheeses, with the finest single and double Gloucesters they are well worth a visit.
