A MOTORIST was caught on one of Stroud town centre's busiest roads while more than THREE times the alcohol limit.
Luke Stubbs, aged 36, was caught in a Ford Focus in Merrywalks on August 10.
A breathalyser test showed he had 108 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit being 35 micrograms - meaning he was more than three times the limit.
Stubbs, from Bisley, pleaded guilty to drink-driving and was sentenced at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on Thursday.
He was banned from driving for five years from and must also complete 200 hours of unpaid work.
Costs of £85 were also imposed with a £114 surcharge - a total of nearly £200.
These must be paid in full by October 31.
The ban started on August 29, the date of his guilty plea.
