YOUNG people aged from eight to 17 are invited to form a band, write an original song and perform it live as part of a four-day music project.

Bandit 41: A Nightmare Before Christmas, is running at Maidenhill School, Stonehouse, from October 26 to October 29.

The scheme, run by Long Train Ride, requires no auditions or prior experience.

Participants will join a band on arrival, work with mentors to create an original track and rehearse for a final public performance at the Sub Rooms in Stroud on Thursday, October 29.

Doors open at 6.30pm, with the show starting at 7pm; an online live stream will also be available.

Tickets cost £18 for adults and £12.50 for children and concessions, available from the Sub Rooms box office.

For details and bookings, contact Kevin Howlett on 07827 434246 or visit the Bandit Music Projects website.

Bandit projects have run since 2002, offering young musicians in Gloucestershire the chance to find their feet in a supportive, professional setting.
