YOUNG farmers across Gloucestershire are being encouraged to enter a national competition celebrating the next generation of agricultural talent.
Farming influencer Olly Harrison has partnered with fuel distributor Certas Energy to launch The Next Crop, which recognises young people helping shape British agriculture.
The competition is open to farmers, agricultural students, apprentices and Young Farmers' Club members aged 16 to 30.
Entrants must submit a 60 to 90-second video or a written response of 250 to 500 words, accompanied by five photographs.
Submissions should explain their involvement in farming, its importance to them and their ambitions for the future.
Five finalists will be shortlisted, with two winners receiving a visit to Harrison's Waterlane Farm.
Harrison said: "Every generation brings new ideas, fresh passion and energy, and a different perspective, and that's what keeps the industry moving forward."
Entries close on Monday, October 26 and should be emailed to thenextcrop@democracypr.com, including the entrant's name, age, farm or business name and location.
