MEMBERS of Nailsworth Flower Club enjoyed a colourful floral demonstration inspired by the life and work of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.
The club welcomed Leanne Williams from Welshpool to its October meeting, where she presented a demonstration entitled Viva La Vida (Long Live Life).
The display combined flower arranging with stories about Kahlo, whose paintings were influenced by her experiences of illness, injury and her marriage to artist Diego Rivera.
Ms Williams created a floral arrangement featuring a bust of Kahlo, decorated with orange roses and proteas.
Other designs incorporated colourful gerberas arranged in melon halves, reflecting the artist's distinctive style.
The club's next event will be an open evening at Sibly Hall, Wycliffe College, on Friday, October 30.
National demonstrator Jo Purdy will present Seasonal Sensations.
Members will then gather at Nailsworth Town Hall on Wednesday, November 4, for their members' evening and supper.
The club holds regular meetings featuring floral demonstrations and opportunities for members to share their interest in flower arranging.
