ROBERT Ashton admitted driving with excess alcohol at Stroud Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, September 22.
Sharon Green, prosecuting, explained how Ashton, 29, of Spinners Cottages, Minchinhampton, was stopped by police in Avening Road in Nailsworth around 4.20pm on August 5.
A test found he had 43 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Defending himself, Ashton said he had two cans of beer over lunch with a friend and felt fine.
He was disqualified for 12 months and ordered to pay a £131 fine, £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge.
