A SINGLE mother was banned for 18 months for driving while over the alcohol limit, a court heard.
Amanda Stanley, aged 26, of Chestnut Hill, Nailsworth, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle when above the alcohol limit.
Prosecuting at Stroud Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, August 31 Sharon Jomaa said: "She was pulled over by officers while driving on the A46 outside Stroud on July 15.
"Officers could smell alcohol in the car and took a sample of breath from her."
"She tested 67 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of her breath, the legal limit being 35 microgrammes."
Joan Hughes, for the defence, said: "She is a young lady who has never been in trouble before.
"She had been out drinking with her sister when an uninvited friend turned up and she offered to drive him home.
"She is a single mother and has already decided to move to Bristol where she can live without a car."
Stanley was also given a £250 fine, ordered to pay £85 costs plus a £15 victim surcharge.
