Stroud & District Conservative Women's Luncheon Club with dance specialist Ann Blagdon

THE chairman Wendy Cannon welcomed members, guests and Neil Carmichael to their Christmas lunch.

The entertainment was provided by dance specialist Ann Blagdon on the History and Culture of Indian Dancing.

Ann wore a colourful Indian dress which she purchased on a recent visit to India.

She also brought along a sari and demonstrated the correct way to wear it.

Other items on show were anklets with bells and bindi marks which are worn on the forehead mainly for adornment.

All movements in the dance have meanings especially the arms and hands each movement telling a story.
