Arlingham WI: Resolution
THE meeting was opened with a financial report followed by a variety of activities on offer; these included a walk at Bishop’s Cleeve, a quilling workshop, an archery taster day, indoor bowls and a visit to Lacock Abbey.
Afternoon tea was also arranged for June 28, at Longfield.
The resolution to raise awareness and acceptance of mental health problems was unanimously supported.
There was no speaker this month and for various reasons we were a bit thin on the ground but we had a very sociable evening making poppies for the village celebrations of the centenary of the end of WW1 in November.
These will be used to decorate the gate to the village hall.
Refreshments this month were provided by Fay and Mo.
There was a three way tie for first place in the competition to 'bring a flower from your garden’ – Chris with an aquilegia, Julie and Maureen with magnolia blossom.
Next month will be an American supper and members’ night so there will be no speaker.
You can join us as a visitor.
We meet at the village hall at 7.30pm on the second Thursday of the month.
