Randwick Gardening Club with a talk on Sensory Sensations

RANDWICK Gardening Club held its July meeting in the village hall.

The meeting was opened by the chairman Mr Stuart Gregory.

He welcomed two visitors and a new member.

He ask members to support the Randwick Show.

He then introduced the speaker for the evening Mr P Green whose talk was Sensory Sensations.

He brought a large selection of plants to illustrate his talk about fragrance, sound and touch including Honeysuckle, Salvia, Holly, Zebra Grass, Physocarpus and Black Elder to name just a few.

The raffle was won by Mary and Val.

Regarding the day trip on Thursday, August 9, it has been decided to travel to Cadbury Garden Centre first where there will be time for lunch before continuing on to The Walled Gardens of Cannington.

The coach leaves at 9.15am from Tricorn House.

On Wednesday, July 18, members travelled to Ball Colegrave Ltd, a leading supplier of bedding plants to the horticultural industry.

On show were new plant varieties for 2019, four acres of seasonal displays and colour themed patio garden ideas.

An enjoyable time was had by all.

A reminder there is no August meeting, the next one on September 11, is The Secret Garden at Stroud Museum.
