THE monthly meeting of the WRBL took place at the Community Centre on Thursday, July 27.
Our chairman Rosemary Bodenham led the exhortation and silent tribute.
There were 16 members present.
Our county secretary Kay Scase joined us for this meeting.
It was with great sadness that our chairman informed us all, on behalf of the committee, that our Women`s section is closing after 90 years as they are unable to fill the committee places that will become vacant in October.
This decision is due to a decline in membership, health and age of members.
Our final branch meeting will be held on Thursday, September 27, when there will be a hand over meeting with the County Officials.
We look forward to a normal meeting next month on August 30, when our MP David Drew will be our speaker and members are asked to bring something for our harvest raffle. T
he competition will be a knitted item for Kid`s Stuff.
The competition winner this month was Myrtle Daw, with Barbara and Isobel coming joint second.
