Leonard Stanley Wine Circle with ‘The Dame and the Diva Cabaret’

NICE to see a full hall of members for our November meeting.

Chairman Eric reminded that money was due for the Christmas dinner at The George, Frocester and as parking at this time of the year is limited, asked people to car share as much as possible.

Also to make things feel more festive, he suggested men wear something red and the ladies to ‘sparkle’!

Dinner is 7pm for 7.30pm, food at 7.45pm.

Once Christmas is over, we meet again for Burns night on January 30, which is much enjoyed by all members.

He was pleased to say that catering will be done by the same people as last year and other members will supply the puddings.

A big thank you to all.

Christmas cards were on sale at the back of the hall and members were asked to give to Margaret Wheeler their birthday, Christmas cards etc to be recycled as these are sold in aid of Air Ambulance and the Butterfly Garden.

Without further ado, Eric introduced our entertainment for the evening, namely ‘The Dame and the Diva Cabaret’ – who made us laugh with their lighthearted look at life, featuring comedy, poetry, sketches and song.

As usual, we did not know what to expect but these two talented ladies had us in fits as with the aid of various hats, they adopted different accents and poses.

In particular their sketch on Nelson and Hardy and political correctness definitely hit the spot as well as ordering a cup of coffee!
