FOR anyone who had a ukulele for Christmas or needs to brush up their skills, UkeStroud ukulele group are holding a special beginners’ workshop on February 9 at 11am at Pitchcombe Village Hall.
Music will be provided and there are spare instruments for anyone who would like to have a try before buying.

UkeStroud, holds regular meetings on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursdays at Pitchcombe Village Hall, GL6 6LP, from 8-10pm.
As well as honing their musical skills, the group enjoy singing a wide variety of well-known folk and popular songs.
During 2018, UkeStroud have performed at various clubs, care homes and functions in the Stroud area, where their energetic performance and wacky jokes always bring a smile.
The group have spurred on participants in the Longfield Walk, Stroud Half Marathon and the “Horse Trials” at Sidmouth Folk Festival.
An autumn fund-raising event for The Woodland Trust raised £140 and collections at Christmas events made £200 for the Meningitis Trust.
