WE CELEBRATED the first meeting of 2019 with nearly a full house of members taking part in the ever popular traditional Burns Night.
The tables looked festive with co-ordinated table arrangements and crackers and we all enjoyed a traditional Burns night meal cooked to perfection.
Bob Britton performed his usual role in full Scottish attire to address the haggis to the accompaniment of Scottish music and clapping.
Many thanks to the members in the kitchen who cooked and served up the meal, the people who made the delicious puddings, the flower arrangements, Bob and to Eric – our chairman who co-ordinated the evening.
A good time was had by all, plus we had five new people attend who will be joining as members.
A big welcome to them.
Last but not least Ann Connett celebrated a ‘special’ birthday that evening as well.
Happy Birthday Ann.
Out next meeting is on Wednesday, February 27, when Philip Collins will talk about the History of Cheltenham through postcards.
