All aboard for Jamie’s Ark

A NEW worship group designed specifically for toddlers was launched at Saint James’ Church, Quedgeley last week.

The worship led by Revd Jenny d’Esterre involved actions, songs, prayers and rhymes all centred around Jesus growing up.

Children enthusiastically joined in ‘playing’ the musical instruments to the various songs.

A craft activity and a tasty snack were included in the service.

Jamie’s Ark will take place on the second Tuesday of each month in Saint James’ Church, School Lane, Quedgeley, from 1.30pm - 2.30pm.

For those living in Kingsway we shall be opening Jamie’s Ark on Thursday, March 14, at the same time, 1.30pm -2.30pm, in the Kingsway Community Centre and will run every second Thursday in the month.

Revd. Jenny d’Esterre said: “It was lovely to see so many children at our new toddler service. We shall be exploring a new theme each month, so the craft will differ to reflect the theme. At the end of the service there is the opportunity for parents/carers to socialise with each other over a cuppa.”

Revd. Canon Fr. John Ward commented: “Whilst our monthly family service welcomes all - young and old the service and craft activities are more appealing to children of school age. Jamie’s Ark is tailored made to meet the needs of the pre-school child. It is very relaxed and very informal. I do hope we shall see many more new faces.”
