WELCOME to our first news report.

Since the launch of The Stroud Sacred Music Festival in 2015, many things have happened in relation to people connecting through music, dance, food and silence.

This is by no means the first of its kind, but it is another wonderful initiative.

Circles of Compassion has arisen out of the SSMF.

The purpose is to connect with individuals, groups and organisations, with the main focus on meditation, stillness and silence.

Through these means, we can collectively have intentions, and possibly prayers, that will make a positive impact on the world.

All of these ideas are not new. We would just like to build on them.

At the moment, there is a small group of people working on the Journey of Peace 2019, a project to connect with a variety of communities around mainland UK, over a period of 3 months, from May.

The intention is to gather in different parts of the country, to share music, food and meditation and to celebrate the unity in diversity.

It is also to share the vision of St Laurence Church, hosting ‘Stroud Centre for Peace and the Arts’.

Undoubtedly, there are other similar places around the country, so we intend to learn from them.

Hopefully we can also share resources.

We hope to make contact with people who live in any of the selected places. See Circles-of-compassion.net
