AS you now know, I have been released from the club but just wanted to let you know how very disappointed I am to not be there with you next season and helping to achieve league status, but when you do make promotion, as I really hope you do, I will be gutted all over again for not being there.

Just to clarify the situation regarding signing another contract, I was offered a year, extension, but at the time I wasn't making the first 11 and felt this was a priority at the age of 27, however, the contract wasn't there at the end of the season.

I wanted in a small way to say a big thank you to all the fans, staff and background people including all the volunteers who have supported me along the way.

I can't speak highly enough of the players - true friends. I admire Dale Vince's commitment to the club. Also special thanks and appreciation to Robin Kirby, who very kindly sponsored me for a number of seasons, you're all fantastic.

I have had an amazing five years with Forest Green and met some brilliant people along the way.

I shared many highs and lows over my time with you and I was so very proud to be captain and wear that no 2 shirt.

I played 180 odd games and wanted to become the highest ever appearance maker.

On a personal note, I feel I am leaving on a high having had one of my best seasons, despite playing out of position for the most part.

It has been my privilege and an honour to play for the club and even though I can’t be part of that journey, I wish you every success for next season and you will always have a special place in my heart.

With very best wishes, Jared
