Stroud 3
Bristol and West 7
A DISAPPOINTING 7-3 loss didn’t reflect the game.
Stroud started quickly and fell behind. However, a well worked short corner being upgraded to a penalty flick scoffed by Dan Clifford. Rich Cartmell edged Stroud in front only to see Bristol's dogged determination claw back goals to see them 4-2 in front. A early second-half penalty flick from Alex Richards made for an exciting second-half, where Stroud pushing for an equaliser, ended in three more goals for Bristol.
Next week's home game kicks-off at 1.30pm against Cardiff and Met.
Stroud Ladies 2s 0
Cheltenham 3rds 5
Stroud Ladies' buoyed by their good performance last week, started the game frustrating Cheltenham with their passing game and solid defence. Kanyana Mutalindwa with the best chance of a shot on goal. Just before the half-time whistle, Cheltenham scored from a slipped short corner pass.
In the second-half, Cheltenham benefitted from extra subs and experience in this higher league. They started passing around, a tiring Stroud L2, putting attack upon attack on Stroud 2. Despite great saves from Ella Bullock and great marking from star player Stella Cowan, Cheltenham scored four more from counter attacks and open play.
Stroud 3rd 0 Colwall & Malvern 1
AN end-to-end game for both teams with Colwall & Malvern scoring in the first half. Stroud played a great game with strong passing and sound teamwork. Stroud had several attempts at the goal however sadly did not convert.
Player-of-the-match: Kathy Williams.
