Brimscombe and Thrupp won their fourth league game in a row at Longlevens to go within a point of the league leaders in the Hellenic Premier.

Second half goals from Sam Blackie and Ash Caldwell sealed an impressive win.

After a first half stalemate, Brimscombe took the lead on 53 minutes when Blackie powered a shot into the bottom corner.

The game intensified in the second half. Brimscombe had a goal ruled out for offside before both keepers were forced into making important saves.

Three points were sealed by Brimscombe in the 90th minutes when Caldwell converted from the penalty spot after Ollie Pitt was tripped.

Manager Sam Prior, who missed the game due to being on holiday, tweeted: "A very very happy manager with tonight’s result. Never an easy place to go at anytime and the boys have produced a brilliant result. Delighted with the win, but more importantly the clean sheet. The back 5, and in particular our number one, deserve that."

Brimscombe are third in the league. They're next game is in the FA Vase first round proper at home to Cribbs.
