Purton 4 Marlborough 2
PURTON progressed from the second round of the Wilts Senior Cup with victory over Malborough on Saturday.
Purton started the stronger team and were dominant throughout, however did make it hard work for them selves at times.
The opening goal came after 10 minutes when Joe Dorey delivered a superb free kick into the area, which after a scramble in the six yard box Jack Duckers slotted the ball past the visiting keeper.
Purton created several more chances before the break but no further goals came
The second half saw more goals that saw Marlborough Town draw level the score, chipping home keeper Luke Kuczynski.
The lead was short lived however after a Chris Avery strike was parried and Will Backhouse gave Purton a 2-1 lead.
Purton were to add another when Jack Duckers scored with fantastic chip shot from outside the area for a Purton 3-1 lead.
Marlborough hit back and reduced the deficit but Purton netted again in in the 80th minute, Duckers completing his hat-trick
and rightfully earning him the man of the match award which helped the team into the quarter finals.
