GFA Challenge Round Three
Stonehouse Town 0
Roman Glass St George 1
STONEHOUSE acquitted themselves with aplomb against Roman Glass St George from the Premier Division of the Toolstation League at Oldends Lane.
The final score of 1-0 to the visitors was a credit to the home side, playing a team two divisions above.
Stonehouse gifted Roman Glass the lead on 37 minutes. Luke Soule passed to opponent Legg on the edge of the Stonehouse box and he ran clear to slot the ball home.
The home side almost levelled on 44 minutes, but Gale’s shot hit the post. They had another chance to level on 71 minutes, but Jamie Spring headed just over the bar.
The Romans almost made it 2-0 midway through the second-half but Ibrahima Sarr’s free-kick just cleared the crossbar. Stonehouse saw Tim Williams dismissed for a second yellow card.
Stonehouse welcome Wick on Saturday, 3pm.
