GEORGE Corbett could be in line for a return to Worcester Raiders.

The defender or midfielder linked up with Tuffley Rovers in the Hellenic League Premier Division, two levels above his former club.

But with chances to play increasingly hard to come by, Raiders boss Karl Gormley has swooped for his services.

The squad was bolstered last week by another returnee Kyle Belmonte, an attacking midfielder or striker who has signed on dual-registration terms from Stourport Swifts.

Worcester-based Belmonte has been on the books of Redditch United and Malvern Town and is the Worcester Sunday League Premier Division’s top scorer this season with 25 goals in 14 games for Perrywood.

But Gormley warned both that game time would have to be earned with the West Midlands (Regional) League Division One title chasers on a nine-match winning run in the league.

Gormley said: “They both know they will have to take the chance as soon as they get because we are playing really well at the minute.”

On Belmonte, Gormley added: “He hadn’t been getting much game time and will come over to us for three or four weeks to see how he gets on.

“Saturday was his first game, he came off the bench and did well. We will be trying to get him more of a runout next weekend.

“He played for Raiders as a kid and I have known about him for some time, both him and George are local and exactly the type of player we’re looking for.”

Raiders have no fixture tomorrow.
