CITY played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Norwich City at Ashton Gate on Saturday evening in front of the Sky Sports cameras, writes Will Collins.

Not many would have predicted that mid-table City would have looked the better side but I thought for at least the first 60 minutes we gave a great account of ourselves. Although the Canaries saw the majority of the ball, it was City that looked the more dangerous as well as the players holding their shape well in defence.

Norwich took the lead against the run of play with a well-worked goal. Stiepermann’s curling finish from the edge of the area gave Maenpaa no chance in the City goal. But City got a deserved equaliser right on the stroke of half-time. Weimann took the ball down expertly on the edge of the area and fed it to Diedhiou who lashed the ball home to make it 1-1.

The game remained an attacking affair after the break with Pukki testing Maenpaa and Diedhiou stinging the hands of Kruhl in the Canaries goal.

Moments later City took a belated but deserved lead with a fantastic bit of play. Pack played a marvellous through-ball to O’Dowda who crashed the ball home with a fine left-footed finish that hit the underside of the crossbar.

But City weren’t able to hold on as substitute Hernandez crossed the ball to unmarked Aarons at the far post who headed the ball home. Still, it was a very good performance from City and proved we get mix it with the best teams in the division.

This Saturday City travel to Pride Park to face Derby County (3pm) before welcoming Brentford to Ashton Gate on Boxing Day (3pm). Derby are currently fifth in the league whilst Brentford have been in very poor form since their manager Dean Smith left the club in October.

I hope all City fans have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
