FORMER Forest Green striker Christian Doidge is likely to be ineligible for Bolton Wanderers' FA Cup tie against Walsall this weekend as reported by the BBC.

The Championship club have been placed under a registration embargo as they owe money to at least one creditor.

Doidge, who joined Bolton on a loan deal which is now set to become a permanent one back in the summer, will be unable to play unless permission is granted by the EFL and FA.

Remi Matthews and Gary O'Neil will also be ineligible. Matthews joined on similar terms to Doidge while O'Neil's short term contract was set to be renewed at the start of the month.

Dale Vince confirmed Bolton are paying the money they owe Forest Green for Doidge in instalments.

The Welshman has scored one goal for Bolton since his move from Rovers.

Dialogue between Bolton and the EFL is set to continue through to Friday.
