FOREST Green will play their first match in 11 days when they take on Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park on Saturday.

Rovers are unbeaten in five (winning four and drawing one) and will be looking to close in on the automatic promotion places.

It's been a hectic start to 2019 at the New Lawn with the return of Christian Doidge and also the arrival of Shawn McCoulsky.

Here is everything you need to know ahead of Saturday's contest.

Opponent: Oldham Athletic Location: Boundary Park Kick Off: 3pm

Team News

Forest Green were dealt a triple blow when Robert Sanchez, Theo Archibald and Ben Morris were all recalled by their parent clubs.

Rovers have been boosted by the arrival of striker Shawn McCoulsky from Bristol City and Junior Mondal will now also be available for selection following the completion of his transfer from Whitby Town.

Christian Doidge is back and will travel to Greater Manchester.

Oldham will be without Sam Surridge who has been recalled by parent club Bournemouth while defender Sam Graham has also been recalled by Sheffield United.

Opposition

Oldham will be buoyant from their FA Cup triumph over Premier League Fulham last weekend.

Caretaker manager Pete Wild has now won three games in a row during his short spell in charge since Frankie Bunn was sacked on December 27.

Bunn was sacked following a 6-0 drubbing at Carlisle United on Boxing Day with the club in 12th place.

They are currently 10th in League Two, five points off the play-offs.

Form Guide

Rovers still have the best away record in League Two with seven wins, four draws and two defeats.

Forest Green are five unbeaten in the league while Oldham have won their last two league games.

Previous Meeting

Forest Green 1-1 Oldham - Saturday, August 11 2018

Reuben Reid gave Rovers the lead but a late penalty from Dan Gardner earner the Latics a point despite FGR dominating.

Predicted line-up

Montgomery, Gunning, Rawson, McGinley, Shephard, Winchester, Brown, James, Mills, Williams, McCoulsky

SNJ Verdict

A difficult prospect on paper but Forest Green have been so impressive away from home, losing just twice all season.

The team should be in good shape following a break, which proved beneficiary a month ago when they had an 11 day break before they beat Yeovil Town.

There are a lot of things for Mark Cooper to think about. New signing McCoulsky will be eager to start and make an impression although George Williams and Tahvon Campbell have been in fine form over Christmas.

Doidge is back and Cooper said he will travel so it's already intriguing to see how Rovers will shape up in attack.

Rovers' other new recruit Mondal may also be pushing for a place on the bench after Theo Archibald was recalled by Brentford.

Forest Green are in a brilliant position but with the league being so tight, it's important they remain in the play-offs and consolidate before they can push for the top three.

Any form of result at Boundary Park will be a good one. Lets not forget they were one of the relegated sides from League One.

Prediction

Oldham 1-2 Forest Green
