FOREST Green defender Joseph Mills had mixed emotions after the 0-0 draw away at his former club Oldham Athletic.

Mills felt Rovers created plenty of chances to win the game, particularly in the first half, and was cursing the team's luck after Reece Brown hit both posts and the bar.

"I watch it (Brown's shot) and it the post, bar and another post and rolled across the goal so it's one of them that when it's not going for you it's not going for you but we created more than enough opportunities today," said Mills.

"I think we dominated the play in the first half and it was a really professional performance but we couldn't get that telling goal."

Oldham improved in the second half and the 29-year-old was pleased with how Forest Green stood firm to come away with a clean sheet and a point.

"We expected that," Mills explained. "How dominant we were in the first half we knew they'd come out firing so we had to deal with that threat.

"They had some chances towards the end but we spoke about winning the game but most importantly not losing so a 0-0 result, we'll take that and move on."

It was a cold, wet and windy day at Boundary Park which made life difficult for Rovers.

When comparing the Oldham weather to the weather he played in during his time in Australia he replied: "It was just a tad colder."
