FOREST Green midfielder Charlie Cooper has joined Boreham Wood on loan on until the end of the season.

Cooper hasn't featured for Rovers since May 2018 and spent the first half of the season on loan at fellow League Two side Newport County.

He returned to the New Lawn in December but an injury picked up in training meant he was unable to complete a move away in January.

Cooper will be available for Boreham Wood's National League game at Dover Athletic on Tuesday night.

Boreham Wood are currently 17th in the National League.

The 21-year-old has made 59 appearances for Forest Green, scoring once since initially arriving on loan back in December 2016.

On joining the National League side, Cooper told the Boreham Wood club website: “I am very pleased.

“I have been speaking to the manager Luke Garrard for a couple of weeks and had been wanting to get out on loan in order to play some games.

“After speaking to him, I really wanted to come here and get stuck in and get out onto the pitch.

“The manager is young and there is a small, tight knit squad here, which is a big thing to have at this level.

“I think that I’m a midfielder with a lot of energy; I like to get on the ball, play forward and try and make things happen.

"I will always look to give it to players who can go and score goals, or create assists."
