IT has been a fantastic year at Cainscross RFC in their 125th year.

While the results on the field have not always gone their way under the stewardship of club chairman Richard Stonebridge and club captain's Adam Carter and Ben Pollard, the club has grown and finds itself in a very strong position. The club have not only added the mixed ability team to the ranks which has been overseen by one of the up and coming players Joe Hanchet they have also started the own mini and junior section.

The youth section has grown throughout the year under the direction of Adam Carter and his wife Jo. Adam also celebrated 21 years playing for the first team this year and has vested interested in the minis as both his sons Hayden and Zac now follow him in donning the amber and blue.

They finished their season in style this year as the sun shone for their end of season presentation which also saw the unveiling of their new playing shirts proudly sponsored by Gloucester Demolition.

40 kids ranging from age 5-12 all enjoyed the presentation of a certificate and medal.

Cainscross legend Mick Minett was also there for the presentation and commented on how he remembered the last minis section back in the 80's and how good it was to see the Cainscross shirt being worn by the next generation again.

The minis wants to thank all of the parents and children for their commitment in the 1st year at Cainscross along with the passionate and dedicated coaching and administration team who without these individuals, the club would not be able to run.

They are hoping the minis will grow from strength to strength and surpass the seniors 125 years.

There will be a taster session on the at Victory park on the 6th July @ 10am, so if your little ones are interested then please contact us via Facebook – cainscrossrfcminis or email cainscrossminis@gmail.com for information.
