Gloucester head coach Johan Ackermann insists 2019 double award winner Danny Cipriani could still have a role to play at the World Cup.

Speaking after Saracens overran Gloucester 44-19 to secure their place in Saturday's Gallagher Premiership final at Twickenham, Ackerman said: "If we played better we probably could have helped him, but we made some silly defensive errors and couldn't win the high contest and left some tries out there," Ackermann said.

"It will be tough if he's judged on the one game. You have to look at the whole season. He can make a difference. It's the way you want to play and it is a tough choice for Eddie Jones.

"I do believe that Danny can do it. Danny can come off the bench and make a huge difference."
