Forest Green have linked up with global investments company CANDRIAM.

The sponsorship package includes pitch side board advertising as well as the organisation of client events at the club.

The new partnership highlights CANDRIAM's commitment to sustainability, with FGR having long demonstrated its green credentials with the club being powered by renewable energy, serves vegan food to players, staff and fans, and plays on an organic pitch.

In recognition of the work the club has done in reducing its impact on the environment, it received prestigious UN certification in 2018 and has since signed up to Climate Neutral Now, a United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change initiative.

In April 2019, Forest Green Rovers chairman Dale Vince obtained an official role with the UN and its recently launched Sports for Climate Action initiative.

Naïm Abou-Jaoudé, CEO at CANDRIAM and New York Life Investments International, said: “ESG and sustainability have been at the centre of our business for the last 20 years. At CANDRIAM, we are always on the lookout for organisations that are ahead of the curve when it comes to respecting the environment, society and promoting sustainable development. CANDRIAM is proud to team up with Forest Green Rovers and wants to support its development by becoming its first non-British partner. We are really impressed by the success of the club, which sets an example for bigger clubs. Our sponsorship is evidence of our strategy of supporting sustainable initiatives that can have a genuine impact at a grass-roots level.”

Henry Staelens, CEO at Forest Green Rovers, said: “As the greenest and most sustainable football club in the world, Forest Green Rovers works hard to bring together football and environmental consciousness in a way that no one else is. We are thrilled to have the support of Candriam, an organisation which shares our commitment to socially responsible action, and we look forwards to partnering closely with them in the future.”
