Rising Stroud AC teenage star Lexie Bull announced herself on Saturday for Gloucestershire Schools at the South West Counties Schools track and field championship held in Exeter.
In what were difficult windy conditions, the 14-year-old produced a dominate display in U15 800m as she sprinted clear of the long time leader over the last 200m to take the title in 2mins 15.59.
Lexie, coached by Chris Brown will now start preparation to represent Gloucestershire Schools against the other 45 English counties at the English Schools National Track & Field Championships in July held at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.
Elsewhere, Inca Padfield from Stroud AC, coached by Brown, won her first regional medal with a good performance in the U19G 800m to win the bronze medal, a training partner of Inca at Stroud AC Liam Dailey also won his first regional medial with a bronze medal in the U19B 1500m.
