BRIMSCOMBE boss Sam Prior took the positives from his side's pre-season defeat against National League North Gloucester City.
Mike Cook's side came out 4-0 winners at the Meadow, but Prior was pleased with his sides' application.
Prior said: "I was pleased with the performance last night in general, thought we more than held our own for large periods of the game.
"Gloucester are a top side and their forwards were the biggest difference between the two sides.
"Another good workout for us, another positive performance and it keeps us moving in the right direction towards the start of the season."
Brimscombe welcome Chalford on Saturday, 3pm.
