Forest Green Rovers will play Southampton Under 21s in the EFL Trophy.
Rovers were drawn into group D earlier this week alongside Walsall and League One side Coventry City.
The group stage draw was concluded today with the invited clubs being placed into groups.
The first group game is set to take place on September 2, but remains subject to change.
Mark Cooper's side were knocked out in the group phase in last season's competition.
