AHEAD of the new Hellenic Premier Division season, Brimscombe boss Sam Prior insists his side are in rude health.
Fresh from their 5-1 victory over Shortwood, the Lilywhites handed out a 5-0 drubbing to Stonehouse Town on Monday night.
However, the Hellenic League Division One West newcomers put up a brave fight- trailing to a first-half Ollie Pitt strike, but Prior's side turned up the heat in the second-half with Ed Major making it 2-0 on 54 minutes. Jack Smith grabbed a four-minute brace by rifling home in the 66th minute and 70th minute. James Campbell made it five on 87 minutes.
Prior said: "I was pleased with the attitude and application tonight. Our levels are up where we want them, with more to work on."
Brimscombe complete their pre-season schedule on Friday night with the visit of Southern League Slimbridge, 7.45pm.
Stonehouse welcome AFC Porth on Saturday, 3pm.
