FAIRFORD TOWN made it back-to-back Hellenic Premier Division wins with a 3-1 victory at Lydney Town, but taskmaster boss Jody Bevan insists there is more to come from his side.

Ellis Dunton, Connor Thompson and Callum Preece were on target for Town as the Cinder Lane outfit made it a perfect start to the new season.

“Lydney is never an easy place to go and that was the same last night,” admitted Bevan.

“Whilst I felt we were the better team on the night and worthy of our win we never really played with any fluency.”

Fairford let the Foresters back into the game after their opener, but Bevan was pleased with his side’s riposte.

He added: “ Having let Lydney equalise shortly after half-time, it was really pleasing to see us respond and get ourselves back ahead again.

“Last season we would have probably crumbled in the same situation. To have two wins from two away games in the space of three days is fantastic and I'm absolutely delighted, but there is definitely more to come from us if we can keep our standards high.”
