SHORTWOOD co-manager Jason Scrivens lauded his side after they opened their FA Cup extra preliminary round journey with a 3-1 victory at fellow Hellenic League outfit Clanfield 85.
The Nailsworth side came from behind to blitz the home side with three second-half goals in as many minutes -Troy Budd bagging a brace and Joe Wilton grabbing his second goal in as many games.
Scrivens said: "They stuck to the plan and executed it well in difficult conditions.
" I felt we dominated the second-half and got our just deserts with three quick goals. We know we can improve further, but in this case all the squad after a hard last season should be applauded."
Shortwood pocketed £2,250 for this victory and will travel to Dunstable Town in the preliminary round on Saturday, August 24.
Shortwood: Clarke, Langworthy, Nowell, Hoskins, Kerr, Byrnes, Wilton, Halliday, Budd, Black, Bowles
