PAINSWICK earned the local bragging rights in a one-sided local derby on Saturday at Broadham Fields, writes Fred Hayward.
Painswick scored 13 tries, nine of which were converted in this Gloucester Div 2 clash. Painswick dominated all aspects of the game with their forwards winning plenty of ball for their three quarters to show off their pace and power. Cainscross had no answers to the home sides intensity right from the first whistle.
Painswick's willingness to run the ball at every opportunity made for a very entertaining game and had the large crowd enthralled right to the final whistle.
To be fair, Cainscross never threw the towel in, and kept plugging away, but they came up against a rampant Painswick side, who had a point to prove after the previous week's loss at Brockworth.
Painswick's next league game is against Chelt Civil Service away on Sat, October 5, 3pm ko.
If you are interested in joining the original Cherry and Whites, training is on Tuesday and Thursday 7.00pm at Broadham Fields, Painswick.
