RYAN Fraser has withdrawn from the Scotland squad for their upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Cyprus and Kazakhstan.

The Daily Echo understands the Cherries winger is being rested due to a minor knee injury.

Fraser, 25, has made 11 Premier League appearances for Cherries this season but missed the clash against West Ham due to illness and was named on the bench at Southampton due to a slight knock.

The Scot played the full 90 minutes of Saturday's defeat at Newcastle, providing an assist for Harry Wilson.

Fraser has missed games due to a knee problem in the past, including withdrawing from the Scotland squad to travel to Kazakhstan in March due to fears the artificial surface could cause him lasting damage.

Manchester United's Scott McTominay, Liverpool ace Andy Robertson and Leeds defender Liam Cooper have also pulled out of Steve Clarke's squad this week.

Scotland are fourth in their group with two games to play and are unable to catch the top two of Belgium and Russia.
