CLUB legend Chris Greenough came out of retirement to help struggling Brimscombe grab a vital point in a six-goal thriller at Shrivenham, writes Scott Boulton.

Sam Prior’s bottom of the table outfit fell behind after three minutes - Tom Ballard fizzing home from 20 yards. The signs looked ominous for a Brimscombe side without a win this season when a header deflected off Sam Ockwell for a Shrivenham second on 10 minutes.

However, an Ed Major howitzer pulled Brimscombe back into the game and the Lilywhites were level on 30 minutes. Ash Gale’s torpedo kick fell to Ash Caldwell who made no mistake. Brimscombe lost Ollie Pitt to injury with Greenough replacing the diminutive striker.

Brimscombe started the second-half brightly and found themselves in front for the first time on 60 minutes. Jake Parrott picked out Major for his second of the evening.

Shrivenham snatched a point in a game that will give the Lilywhites a timely boost.
