FORMER Forest Green midfielder Jordan Stevens has signed a contract extension at Championship leaders Leeds United, keeping him at Elland Road until the summer of 2022.
Gloucester-born Stevens,19, joined Leeds United from Forest Green Rovers in 2018 and has been a regular for Carlos Corberan’s Under-23 side during his time at the club.
Stevens made his senior debut in January against Stoke City and despite serving a short ban for gambling infringements earlier this season, he returned with two goals in seven games for Corberan's youth side.
This season he has been part of Marcelo Bielsa's first team squad.
On the new deal, Stevens told the club website: “I’m delighted to sign a new deal at the club and I’m excited for where the next few years can take me here.
“Last year with the Under-23s was great, we were a really close group and to win the league was a massive achievement.
“It was great to make my debut against Stoke, I was nervous warming up when you see how many fans are there supporting us, but you have to stay focused on the game and that’s what I tried to do.
“Being around the match day squad is improving me as a player and I’m learning from the senior pros, hopefully I can kick on now and see what the future brings.”
Stevens made his Forest Green first-team debut in September 2017 and made 14 appearances, scoring once before his switch to Elland Road.
