Cirencester Town 1
HIGH-FLYING Frome Town scored either side of the interval to secure victory against a spirited Cirencester Town, writes Dave Pyzer.
Frome opened their account in first-half stoppage-time - Daniel Cottle with a calm finish after the ball fell to him from a Cirencester clearance.
Cirencester started the second-half brightly - Toumani Sidibe volleying a sharp chance over following good work from Nick Hancock.
Frome extended their lead from the penalty spot - Alex Monks converting the spot-kick beyond Lewis Clayton.
Cirencester went on the offensive and 10 minutes later Mike Pook reduced the arrears from the penalty spot after Tommy Anderson was brought down as he latched onto a Levi Irving headed flick.
Encouraged, Cirencester drove forward and another Irving and Anderson combination resulted in the latter being felled again but this time the referee awarded the kick just outside the box.
With 15 scheduled minutes remaining Frome were reduced to ten men but Cirencester couldn’t take advantage and the home side held on.
