Stroud athletes Sean Kinsey and Richard Searle put in impressive performances in the British Triathlon’s National Aquathlon Championships.
The event took place on Sunday, September 19 at Worthing, on the south coast.
It consisted of a 750m sea swim, a quick transition from wetsuit to running shoes and finally a 5km run along Worthing’s promenade.
Both athletes did Stroud proud securing 1st and 2nd in the 55-59 age group category (10th and 12th overall).
A rapid swim helped Kinsey finish in a time of 31 minutes and 29 seconds (10.31 swim/0.26 transition/20.32 run).
Searle made up ground on the run to come home 12 seconds quicker (11.31/0.47/18.59) and win his category.
The athletes train with Stroud Masters Swimming Club and Stroud Athletic Club.
