WITH a dazzling blend of preposterous and colourful characters, Nikolai Gogol’s The Government Inspector is coming to Stroud’s Cotswold Playhouse.
The Cotswold Players present the classic stage show on Friday, November 17 and Saturday, November 18, before returning between Thursday, November 23 and Saturday, November 25, at 7.30pm each night.
Set in the 1830s, in a small, obscure town in Tsarist Russia, corruption is rife. The mayor and a bunch of dysfunctional town bureaucrats have got it made.
That is before news that arrives that an undercover government official is coming to inspect their town unsettles the peace. A simple case of mistaken identity leads to unexpected results.
Tickets are available on the door or in advance by ringing 0333 666 3366 or online at cotswoldplayhouse.co.uk/tickets
